Cat Ramirez McGrath
Cat was a “late bloomer,” and found athletics later in life, dancing most of her life, swimming competitively in high school, rowing crew in college and jumping horses.
In 2000, she found CrossFit. At the time, she was dangerously underweight, and struggling to find a healthy alternative to dancing. What she found was a group of 8 guys, throwing down every day, pushing themselves to be better at life, and holding each other up in the process, a community, a family. She was hooked, and it literally changed her life and health. She continued to learn and develop within CrossFit, while working full time as a research scientist. Ultimately, the health, help, support and community of CrossFit led Cat to coaching full time. She coached all over Northern California, traveled for seminars, and competed for several years before transitioning into weightlifting full time. Cat competed internationally in Weightlifting, securing 4 titles, before transitioning into motherhood! In 2018 Cat took her involvement with CrossFit to the next level by purchasing an affiliate in North Carolina (where her and her family were stationed with the Marine Corps), and gave birth to her son Javi. In 2019, she adopted a daughter Ysabel, and will be adding another little girl to her family in fall of 2020. She is very excited to be on the West Coast again, runs her affiliate from afar, and is very excited to coach and be a part of CrossFit Lacey Training Day! Certifications:
